CALL<\/strong><\/p>\n

ONLINE TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM <\/strong><\/p>\n

Moodle course \u201cDigital Educator ABC\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Department of International Relations, Faculty of International Relations and Political Sciences of Moldova State University in cooperation with Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies of the University of Tartu invites teaching staff of Moldovan universities to participate at teacher\u2019s training program \u201cDigital Educator ABC\u201d on the university\u2019s learning management system \u2013 Moodle. Training will be delivered in two offered dates: 02.09 \u2013 28.09.2024 and 04.11.\u2013 24.11.2024.<\/p>\n

The course takes place fully online<\/strong> in the Moodle learning environment of the University of Tartu. The course consists of 4 Modules:<\/p>\n

Module 1: Work with digital resources\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Module 2:\u00a0 Creation of online visual learning resources & copyright\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Module 3:\u00a0 Development of digital assessment (quizzes, peer-assessment online)<\/em><\/p>\n

Module 4:\u00a0 Online teaching activities & didactics (webinars; recording lectures, etc.)<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition to the online material, participants are expected to participate in 4 webinars, which will be arranged at the end of each module. \u00a0After completing the course, participants will receive 2 ECTS (52 AH) and a digital certificate from the University of Tartu.<\/p>\n

The primary objective of the course is to introduce educators in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Moldova with the principles and techniques essential for utilizing digital resources proficiently within their teaching methodologies. Through comprehensive instruction and practical guidance, participants will gain insights into various facets of digital resource integration, including but not limited to selecting appropriate digital resources, incorporating them seamlessly into lesson plans, and leveraging technology to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. By fostering a deeper understanding of digital tools and their pedagogical applications, this course aims to encourage educators to adapt to the evolving landscape of education, equipping them with the skills necessary to navigate the digital realm effectively and enrich the learning experiences of their students.<\/p>\n

The course will be taught by Manager of Online Learning and Continuing Education Projects at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies, Ms. Anna Beitane (anna.beitane@ut.ee<\/a>). Anna is responsible for developing and implementing online and blended courses, coordinating continuing education programs, and specializing in teacher training with a focus on innovative methods and online didactics at the institute. She oversees study-related projects on online learning, digital competences, and EU topics. Anna has authored several multi-disciplinary MOOCs and won the e-course of the year 2022 in Estonia. Her profile could be found on Estonian Research Information System<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Training program \u201cDigital Educator ABC\u201d is organized within international project \u201cEstonia’s Best Practices for Enhancement of Moldova’s Higher Education Capacities (EST4MORE)\u201d, developed by University of Tartu, Estonia in partnership with Moldova State University and the support of ESTDEV. The project addresses challenges faced by Moldovan HEIs through engaging three target audiences: 1) equipping educators with digital skills and strengthening e-learning quality assurance practices; 2) enhancing MA students\u2019 knowledge of European integration and improving \u201cfuture skills\u201d to make them competitive in the labor market as the next generation of European leaders; 3) uplifting the professional skills of doctoral students by creating networking opportunities with the Estonian researchers to facilitate the transfer of know-how and best practices.<\/p>\n
